CHALLENGE
BET Experience is a full-out cultural takeover — concerts, panels, celebrity events, and thousands of fans leading right into the live BET Awards. Our challenge was to bring Motions Haircare into the weekend in a way that felt authentic and celebratory, not forced or overly branded. The activation needed to live at the intersection of beauty, culture, and community, while also generating strong digital content throughout the festival and culminating in a seamless presence at the BET Awards.
As Lead Digital Producer, I oversaw the production and digital content flow across the entire weekend — from the Motions live activation to backstage and red carpet coverage. I managed multi-camera crews, talent logistics, run-of-show schedules, and on-the-ground interview direction to ensure we captured real cultural energy in real time. I also produced the annual BET Experience Celebrity Golf Tournament, coordinating talent arrivals, branded programming, and content capture during what is always a fast-paced, “everybody doing ten jobs at once” sprint. On Awards night, I led backstage and step-and-repeat production, ensuring Motions was organically present in some of the most talked-about glam and talent moments of the evening.

The Motions activation became a genuine cultural touchpoint over the weekend — crowded, lively, and rooted in real beauty conversations. The tournament brought a different layer of access, placing Motions in front of celebrities, athletes, and media in a relaxed, relationship-building setting that extended brand goodwill. That momentum carried straight into the BET Awards, where backstage and red carpet coverage drove strong engagement and kept the brand visible across social in the moments fans were actively watching, reacting, and sharing. The partnership didn't just show up — it showed up and mattered. By the end of the weekend, Motions felt like part of the celebration, not just the sponsorship.
